Scholarship Amount: $40,000

Overview
The HBCU Week Arts & Entertainment Scholarship is available to HBCU bound and current HBCU students whose major is in the arts and/or entertainment field, and aspires to work in the entertainment industry. This $40,000 scholarship is designed to build and uplift the ever-expanding arts community. Whether you study music, graphic design, dance, film, music performance, studio art, public relations, marketing, communications, acting etc., this opportunity is for you. This scholarship award will come with a mentor and access to year-round programming. HBCU Week foundation will select scholars and match them with their mentors.
Scholarship Amount
This $40,000 scholarship is available to four (4) students, starting fall 2025. This award is renewable annually and will be divided into four (4) equal payments of $10,000, over the four-year period. If a current college student is selected as a recipient, the $40,000 award will be divided equally between the remaining years of their undergraduate program.
- Recipients must recertify their qualifying GPA and major with HBCU Week Foundation, each semester.
Criteria
- Must commit to or attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Must declare a major in the arts and/or entertainment field
- GPA requirements – High school seniors: 3.0 (unweighted)| Current college students: 2.75
- One letter of recommendation from an instructor
- One 500-word essay on why the applicant deserves the scholarship
- One, 2-minute video explaining your dream job in the arts & entertainment industry and how you plan to achieve the goal
- Must be a resident of the United States
